Our school’s successful open evening
It is already about five years ago now since the vision of a Christian School was born in our hearts. The days of the open door on the 20th and 21st of January were the next step towards our vision becoming reality. Through a ninety minute presentation together with a walk around the building, we introduced the parents to the detailed goals of our school. The teachers were introduced and we spoke about the process of registering pupils in our school. We had a fruitful discussion through which the parents showed a particular interest in how English would be taught, creative methods of teaching and the ways in which we want to achieve a Christian atmosphere within school. The questions were answered by Jayne Godfrey (the future director of the school) or the representatives of the founding organisation Ing. Peter Čuřík and Ing. Martin Hunčár. If you were unable to attend the open days and have questions, please contact us.
Mission of the school:
"The aim of Private Elementary School is to provide a solid foundation of the Christian faith and to prepare pupils for life in a multicultural society. We will take care of the whole child; - their educational, social, spiritual, physical and emotional development. We desire that our students will become competent and successful individuals whose lives will be built upon strong and stable Christian values, so they will not compromise their values even in secular society‘‘.
Main goals of our Christian School:
1.Christian values in Education
Through the education process we also want our children to receive sound Christian principles.
2.Creativity and Independence
Our aim is to provide our children with a quality education and prepare them for life the best way we can.
3.Development in the English Language
Of course we want our students to develop in their native language, however, we also want to provide quality English teaching.
Founder: Word of Life, Non-Profit Organisation:
The opening of the school is a vision shared with a wide group of people within Bratislavia including the organisations Christians in the City and the Evangelical Alliance.
The platform Christians in the City brings together Christian Churches, state registered churches and Christian Non Profit Organistations which are located within Bratislava. Its goal is to strengthen the voice of Christians in Society. Through this platform many charity projects have been organsied, for example, a concert was organised with the support of the Prime Minister, to raise finances to support Japan after the earthquake.
An evening of Slovak-Korean music was organised in December 2011 to raise money to support and feed the homeless people of Bratislava three times a week. Christians in the City also organise citywide conferences and seminars for entrepeneurs. The Christian Orchester Zoe, who have performed at many charity concerts, also participated in an event organised by Christians in the City in 2008.
